Do you have a favorite exercise? What do you like about it? Least favorite? What don’t you like about it?
My favorite exercise is anything except burpees!! Not a fan of Turkish get ups either but they are getting easier. I am becoming increasingly fond of kettle bells, which truly amazes me.
What achievements are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the fact that my husband and I are committed to making a change to live a healthier lifestyle. We have made significant changes and feel great. We have also made it a family affair with my niece and sister which is really the best part. Together we plan, prep and cook and co-op our meals when our schedules allow. Knowing that dinner is done and in the fridge when we come home from work is what keeps us on track. No fuss, no mess, no hitting the drive thru on the way home! Plus it is a great support system outside of the gym.
What are some challenges or goals you are currently working on?
My goal is to lose another 2 sizes before my son’s wedding the end of August. I am looking forward to dress shopping. I don’t have to wear a tent!
Do you have a favorite song or type of music for working out?
The music that motivates me during workouts is the Pandora classic rock workout station.
What advice would you give to other wild peeps?
I can’t say enough about what a change I have seen so far. In January when I came to Wild I had gained back a bunch of weight I lost 2 years prior and was feeling awful. I thought was this what turning 60 was supposed to feel like? After being very active all my life I was starting to become more sedentary and not liking it at all. Well with eating right, regular work outs and a fantastic support system I can tell you NO… 60 can feel great. I have new found energy, strength, stamina and now my glutes hurt because of squats, not from sitting too long on the couch! Thank you Amber and Carla for providing the tools, personal instruction, support and care in helping me reach my goals.
My advice to others is you are never too old to do something good for yourself. You just have to find the right people at the right place and I found it here.
