Meet Mandi M., our April Client of the Month!

Mandi has been with us as a Small Group client for almost a year.  During this time, she has increased her strength and endurance and always shows up to class with a smile on her face.  She brings great energy to her workouts and encourages her fellow classmates to push themselves too.

Read more about Mandi’s take on her time at Wild below.

How did you first hear about Wild Workouts & Wellness?

I live in the neighborhood, so I had been curiously walking by for a while. When I heard from a couple of friends about their experiences I decided to try it out.

Do you have a favorite exercise? What do you like about it?
Any squat variation. Using the largest muscle to lift my whole body, plus some added weight, makes me feel really strong.

Least favorite? What don’t you like about it?

Mountain climbers. They’re so exhausting! I start strong, but can never keep up the pace like I want to.

What achievements are you most proud of?

Making exercise a habit. Sports and exercise weren’t really encouraged when I was growing up so I never developed those habits as an adult. Prior to joining Wild, I’d always find a reason to workout “tomorrow” and then ultimately never do it or do it enough to make it a habit. Now I love exercising and taking care of my body!

Why Wild? What do you like most about Wild Workouts and Wellness?

The community, workouts, and accountability. The support and encouragement I receive from other clients and the trainers is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I also love that the trainers take care of putting together a workout that’s going to work my whole body over time so I don’t have to think about it. And without Wild, I know I would still fall into the mindset of working out “tomorrow” on those bad weather or busy days. I still need that accountability in my life even though my mindset on exercising has changed.
What advice would you give to other Wild peeps?
Set goals. When I first started, I was doing the workouts just to do them and to generally get in shape. But once I set goals, I noticed I started pushing myself more, eating better, and seeing more progress. Setting goals turned my general fitness goals I was working on twice a week at Wild into lifestyle goals I’m working on outside of the gym.

Do you have a favorite song or type of music for working out?

Anything with a good beat. I’m not too picky.

What are some challenges or goals you are currently working on?

My knee and lower back can be challenging sometimes, so I’m working on stretching, building strength, and my form to help navigate that. Building upper body strength is a general goal, and specifically I want to press 30lbs!
