Oh, Anne!  She’s so great.  I really mean it.  At our early bird 5:45 am workouts, Anne brings a positive attitude while tackling the day’s workout.  Coach Tom raves about Anne’s improvement on form and strength. We love Anne and we know you will too!

Read on about our January Client of the Month.

Q:  Do you have a favorite exercise? What do you like about it? Least favorite? What don’t you like about it?

A:  I enjoy running most of all. It is the one time when there are no other expectations of me than to just move. Boot camp gives me that feeling too. I love getting in the zone and giving a workout my all. In the gym, I love kettlebells and core (anything with the medicine ball). My least favorite is anything with a right/left combo, because I will always get mixed up on the first round and can’t get in a rhythm! I guess that’s why I like running, because it doesn’t require much coordination!

Q:  What achievements are you most proud of?

A:  About 6 years ago, I was overweight, so I started running. I was went from a size 16 to an 8 and have kept it off! But more importantly, I found running and it changed everything for me. Since then, I’ve run 4 marathons and countless half marathons and 5k’s. I’m not fast, but I get up and go in the mornings consistently and that’s what counts. Oh, and the medals are sweet!

Q:  What do you like most about Wild Workouts and Wellness?

A:  Tom and Kate at 5:30 in the morning are just so enthusiastic. Their encouragement and energy are unmatched. I recently upped my boot camps to 2x a week and it’s tough! But it’s fun with the group and we do have our share of laughs. I’ve also got so much respect for Amber and how she has grown her business. The specialized workshops and sessions, the focus classes like Band Camp and Run Wild Intervals, the nutritional support, the check ins, the birthday prizes, all of it is so well done and it really feels like a community. I’m proud to be part of it!

Q:  What advice would you give to other wild peeps?

A:  Don’t compare. This is something I struggle with. I can be having the most killer run/workout and look over and someone is doing it with better form, faster, with heavier weights, etc. That can kill your energy so quick! I try to remind myself that we are all on a level playing field as long as we are giving it 100% of what we have to give that day. That helps me feel proud of the person next to me instead of envious! (and reminds me I can always improve!)

Q:  Do you have a favorite song or type of music for working out?

A:  I tend to get stuck on certain albums and artists – and I love strong female artists! Right now the chick rock rotation features Metric, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Tove Lo, and Meg Myers.

Q:  What are some challenges or goals you are currently working on?

A: Right now I’m trying to get to 1,000 running miles for 2015. At the time I’m responding to this, I’m at 933 on December 3rd. Check back on January 1st and see if I did it! 🙂 Beyond that, I’ve got my eye on the new Milwaukee Running Festival in Fall 2015 – I’m thinking marathon.
