Wild Workouts Wellness has developed a workout program that will help pickleball players level up their game and play more – injury free.

As hundreds of pickleball players in and around Bay View pack area courts to volley, dink and smash nearly seven days a week, the boom in the former backyard pastime continues to boom. Fitness industry groups project 20 million participants will be playing in 2024, doubling for the third year in a row. That growth, though, has coincided with another boom – sprains, strains and fractures – accounting for more than 66,000 ER visits just last year.

You can avoid that by joining Trainer Taylor York for our Pickleball Fit classes on Thursday nights at 2121 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. The workouts will improve your agility, strength, endurance, quickness and balance 

Each 45-minute session includes a dynamic warm-up, followed by drills, gameplay and strength training customized to the sport.

Bob Dumke, a local pickleball junkie from Cudahy,  joined Wild for the first run of its Pickleball Fit sessions in May.

“Taylor did a great job!” he wrote us. “The exercises were spot on for PB and she kept things moving well. I know it was a good workout as I can feel it, and a dose of Motrin is next on the menu!”
