Spring is here and it’s time to celebrate our May Client of the Month! Beth is one of our all-around rockstars! You will find her giving it all 110% in our Wild Workouts Bootcamp classes, in the Couch to 5K and Group cycling! Beth has also taken on the Wild Weight Loss Challenge, Cycling & Strength, Sugar Crackdown and more! Not only is Beth hard-working, she has demonstrated incredible courage and a fantastic attitude that continues to inspire us all. While overcoming enormous obstacles of injury and surgery, Beth has made a huge comeback to exercise. With her determination, Beth continues to improve in strength, stamina, and weight loss while taking on new challenges and facing her fears.

Beth says it best, so lets hear from her. We asked Beth about her experience at Wild Workouts and Wellness and here is what she had to say:

“2011 was a really tough year for me. I crashed my bike on the Miller Ride For The Arts and smashed my arm to pieces in a spectactular fashion. I had surgery and replacement parts! The Orthopedic doctor said I had the worst injury he had ever seen. I had months of physical therapy and I wasn’t really sure that my arm would work well again. Later that same year I also had cervical neck decompression surgery (2 levels). I really packed on the pounds and was weak and way out of shape. In 2012, I started working out again and for a few months with a personal trainer, but when that was done, I wasn’t sure what to do next. I had worked out at a previous boot camp with Heidi Fritz and was still friends with her on Facebook. I remember that Heidi had always raved about coach Amber. Right after the Bay View Bash, I signed up for the 2 week trial and I’ve been here since!”

What is your favorite exercise? Least favorite?

My favorite exercise is the weighted ball slams. It really helps relieve stress! My least favorite has to be the reverse lunges (always a balance thing with me).

What achievement are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of the fact that since this Fall I have lost over 13 pounds and 8 inches during the Wild Weight Loss Challenge!

What do you like most about Wild Workouts and Wellness?

The thing I like most about Wild is that everyone that works out here is “REAL.” All the trainers are so positive and motivational and are always there to correct you on your form. I also love the fact that there is always something going on. From Sugar Crackdown to Indoor Cycling to all the other programs that Amber makes available. Things never get boring.

My advice that I would give to other Wild Peeps?

Just keep on keeping on! The thing that works for me is that I know that if I’m scheduled for a workout – I WILL BE THERE! I don’t have to even think about it. If left to my own devices, I could make a million excuses to not work out! Even if I feel mediocre and tired from my day, I feel great when I am done with my workout.

What challenges are you currently working on?

My challenge this year is to run a 5K without walking and ride in the MS 150 again. I also want to continue to work on my strength, balance and endurance and to get down to my goal weight. So far I’m moving in the right direction.

SO CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO BETH! We are so proud of Beth’s achievements and expect to see more as her journey continues. Keep it up Beth!
