Lenore Burger- Success Story

Lenore knew about Wild Workouts and Wellness for a while before joining.   She thought boot camp was for “thin people” and that she was too overweight to join.  But instead of letting these thoughts hold her back, Lenore decided to go for it and has never regretted that decision.

Now Lenore, who is nearly 70 pounds lighter, looks forward to going to her workouts.  Three years ago, Lenore’s Facebook posts would have been about dreading going to the gym.  Now she’s singing a different tune and looks forward to getting her workouts in because she feels so much better.

We asked Lenore a few questions about her journey at Wild Workouts and Wellness.

What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a program?

In late 2013, I started feeling really uncomfortable in my own skin.  I was about 30 pounds heavier than I had been for the past few years (which was already not a healthy weight) and I could feel it.  I was tired.  My joints hurt.  I spent more time on the couch than I did playing with my kids.  I was sleeping poorly.  Then, I saw a picture taken of me on New Year’s Eve and I didn’t even recognize myself.  I made a decision in that moment that I needed a change… so I joined the Wild Best Body challenge and I haven’t looked back since. I was finally ready to do something real about my health.

What results have you achieved since starting your program?

In the past 16 months, I am down nearly 70 pounds, around 15% body fat, and lots and lots of inches.  Beyond that, I have adopted a new lifestyle entirely.  I eat when I’m hungry, not when I’m bored, and I eat foods that will keep me energized and feeling full.  I am active every day, either at Wild, taking a run or walk, or just getting the kids up and playing.  The activity, the improved eating and the weight loss has made me a much happier and more productive person.  Its amazing how a good work out can cure a bad mood!

What do you like best about our program/having a trainer?

The program and the staff at Wild are amazing. I can’t say enough about much they motivate me!  The boot camps and specialty classes are so fun and challenging that I look forward to exercise for the first time in my life.  The trainers always know how to encourage and push me to do my best and they will celebrate victories with you, both small and big.  It’s obvious to me that all of the staff at Wild is genuinely invested in seeing their clients succeed and, in turn, that holds me accountable.  When someone is cheering you on, you want to work that much harder.  That’s something you don’t get running on a treadmill!

What would you say to someone on the fence about joining our program?

Get off the fence and do it!  The program works if you put in the work. I originally thought that I was too heavy for the type of workouts Wild offered that I wouldn’t lose any weight with strength training and boot camps.  I was quickly proven wrong! My results have far surpassed my goal of losing 30 pounds and I am in better shape now than before I had kids (or ever in my adult life, for that matter).  Plus, when you join Wild, you are not joining a “gym”.  You are joining a little community. Not only does the staff encourage you to do your best, the clients do as well.  There’s a sense of family here that I have not seen before at any place I’ve worked out in the past.  You will look forward to your work outs and you will see results!

Going forward, Lenore is looking forward to maintaining her healthy way of eating.  (And by the way, she does not miss bread or pasta.)  Lenore also looks forward to lowing her body fat and focusing on muscle tone.

People tell Lenore that her success inspires them and that they are so proud of her.  We sure are!  Lenore feels healthier NOW than she did 10 years ago.  That’s pretty awesome!
