Jacque and Mike Lepow

Congratulations to Jacque and Mike Lepow, our April Clients of the Month! Jacque and Mike are very dedicated when it comes to their workouts.

We are so proud of all their hard work and look forward to their positive attitudes at all the workouts!

Read on to find out more about Jacque and Mike!

Do you have a favorite exercise? What do you like about it? Least favorite? What don’t you like about it?

Jacque: Suspension exercises are particularly challenging and are among my favorites – especially front fly and “bus driver”. Least favorite is probably pulling tires with a sledge hammer. It takes all my strength just to get the @#&* tire moving. I can barely execute that exercise.

Mike: My favorite exercise is anything core related. They are hard work, but I know they help me execute other exercises better. Least favorite are mountain climbers. It’s hard to maintain a quick pace for even a short time.

What achievements are you most proud of?

Jacque: I’ve developed at least some upper body strength. This has never been my strong suit; I’m gratified to begin to see progress.

Mike:  Weight loss (20 lbs). I can also see a difference in my arms, shoulders and legs. Definitely leaner in those areas. Athletic stamina has improved. I can exercise harder and longer.

What do you like most about Wild Workouts and Wellness?

Jacque: Two things. 1) The coaches are truly excellent. I especially appreciate their skill in simultaneously managing and encouraging each participant no matter their level of experience and/or strength. I never felt like an underachiever, even at the very beginning. I think this is a fundamentally important aspect of keeping people engaged and eager to set goals.  2) Wild’s inclusive atmosphere. This sets Wild apart from most other gyms / workout places. Wild is for everybody – it’s an easy place to be and like.

Mike: First of all, the people I’ve met, both staff and members. There’s a nice cross section of people that belong to Wild. The staff pulls everyone together.  I also like that the workouts vary from session to session and that all of the coaches are very good at challenging me, but still offer enough support to meet and beat those challenges.

What advice would you give to other Wild peeps?

Jacque: Stay engaged, enjoy individual challenges as they present themselves. You’re likely to accomplishing things you didn’t think possible.

Mike: Work hard and concentrate on your exercises during your time there.  For me, changes came slowly. Keep at it and be patient.

Do you have a favorite song or type of music for working out?

Jacque: I like “Americana” style rock and roll, also R&B. Perhaps not the most inspiring work out music, but there it is.

Mike: Rock and Roll is my favorite type of music. Usually the soundtrack for the day fades out and I don’t pay attention. But, Coach Tom’s mixes seem to hit home. There’s always some unique music in his mix that helps bump up my energy level.

What are some challenges or goals you are currently working on?

Jacque: I’m determined to continue building upper body strength.  I’d like to find the upper limit of what I can dead lift, curl and snatch.

Mike: Continued weight loss, trying to reduce belly fat. Feeling fit enough to start and finish a Century bike ride.

What would you tell someone who was on the fence about joining Wild?

Jacque:  Just jump in and give it a try.  It’s likely you’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish.

Mike: Once you’ve committed to improving your fitness, the Wild staff commits to your goals as well. Lots of support and positive interactions help keep you motivated. Plus, I’m proof that anyone can do it.
