Dear Wild family, both current & former clients, it’s time to say good bye.
Four years ago, Wild Workouts and Wellness moved from its “cozy” location in the Avalon Theater Building to one of the two current locations, at Delaware and Oklahoma.
Wow, I remember those humble beginnings in a not-so-fancy, small gym..
Wild started there in 2010. It was just me and about 50 Wild Peeps crushing workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. (Yes, just 3 days a week) The walls would sweat, the windows would steam up and I laugh at the fact that we didn’t even have a sign on the window. Wild was kind of “underground” back in the day, and if you happened to know about Wild, then you knew to enter through the gray steel door labeled with the numbers 2469.
Wild has come a long way since that infancy. And just like raising a child, there were many stages along the way. Each stage brought struggles, lessons learned, sleepless nights, lots of prayers and eventually winning moments when things seemed to be going well; until the next round of growing pains.
These past seven years have been the hardest of my life, and the most rewarding. Seeing the wonderful, loving community we have grown allows me to relish the tough times and feel pride and deep gratitude for everything that has been accomplished.
See, I always felt a deep love and passion for Wild. It was more than a business, it was a personal extension of me and my life. Of course I would do anything for Wild, because I believe so much in the mission of changing lives in a healthy and holistic manner. I believe so much that exercise should be inclusive and welcoming to all – that we could all be friends in fitness supporting each other to a common goal. These deep rooted beliefs fueled the drive and desire to make Wild what it is today.
So it’s crazy to think that Wild has grown into two locations, 10 amazing team members and almost 400 Wild family members. This far surpassed any of the goals I ever set and I feel so much appreciation for everyone that has been part of this journey. This has not been a sole effort, It’s been the work of a fantastic team of people and a family of clients who believed in a vision and allowed me to be the leader on this journey. I am been completely honored to be allowed this opportunity to be a coach, a leader, and an employer to so many great people over the years.
This is not an honor that should be taken lightly. Wild is a business that deserves a leader that is all-in to provide support, guidance and inspiration; to keep delivering the best services, nurture a loving community and thrive as one of the best holistic, life transformation centers around.
That is why I am writing you, to let you know that I am no longer that leader. The last couple years, my soul has been calling me in a different direction. It’s been a major internal struggle, because my soul is asking me to focus on my family right now. I deeply feel that Frank and Darren both need me. I so love being a mom and feel strongly about focusing my energy and time on family.
It has been an extremely difficult decision to leave Wild, because I love you all so much. Continuing on would not be living authentically and would leave me with much regret. I believe that when our soul calls us to do something, it’s God’s way of guiding us to our higher calling. As much as it is hard to say good-bye, I know that you all are in very good hands with all the Wild team members and the new owner, Jason.
Jason is a wonderful person who will bring the love, dedication and passion back to Wild. His leadership and the continued effort of the Wild team will make this a seamless change. How do I know that? Well, it’s been over a week already since Jason became the owner of Wild and everything has been rockin’ and rollin’ strong as ever.
I am so excited for the future of Wild. The team is amazing and their intention is only to keep bring their best to each one of you. And like I said earlier, having a leader that is all-in will help them do that. Jason has an all-in attitude and the attributes to make Wild better than ever.
Wild has been an amazing chapter in my life and the memories and friendships created will be cherished always. Thank you all for being part of it and allowing me to be part of your life.
