Melissa Millard Success Story

Melissa’s story is one of that so many of us can relate to.  Her initial short-term wedding goals have turned into long-term lifestyle living, and now Melissa is stronger and fitter than she has ever been!

What made you decide you wanted/needed to start a Program?

I grew up thin and when I got engaged and realized what I would look like in my wedding photos (85 pounds heavier than my high school weight!) I was sad to think that I wouldn’t really look like myself and that those photos would be hanging in my home forever without the real me in them. I was fortunate enough to have a friend invite me to come to a free Bring a Friend Week workout and I really enjoyed it. I found myself not getting as much out of my own workouts as I had during the free Bootcamp Class, so I signed up for the Spring Challenge in April and lost 7 ½ lbs, 12 inches, and 3.5% body fat in 30 days. I was so motivated by that success that I signed up and committed to coming to classes regularly ever since. After about two months, my goals changed and I started looking to improve my overall health and fitness rather than focusing on weight loss alone. I truly believe that this overhaul of my lifestyle has been the reason I have experienced so much success, including both scale- & non-scale victories, along the way.

What do you like best about Wild’s program & having a trainer?

I really enjoy being able to schedule my fitness classes at my convenience and work with a variety of trainers who push me to do my best each class. When I began I was barely able to make it through a full class and I would secretly take a breather when I thought the trainer wasn’t looking. I began noticing that after a few weeks my endurance and strength were increasing and that I was making deliberate choices to work through challenging circuits and picking heavier weights, often at the insistence of the trainers. Some of the most motivating aspects of being a Wild member is the enthusiasm and energy of the trainers and the kindness of the other Wild members. It is very motivating to work out alongside many of the same folks week after week and to hear the trainers compliment your form and notice that you have made progress! It is truly like being part of a very supportive family!

What would you say to someone on the fence about joining our program?

If you’re unsure about Wild, I say give it a try. Come to a free Bootcamp during Bring a Friend Week (just let them know you’re with me!) and be prepared to work. Yes, it will be challenging. No, you won’t regret it. I think each of us knows that the hardest part of getting into a routine is getting started. Let Wild be the place that gets you hooked on striving for a better life!
