Commercial deodorant is an absolute NO when it comes to healthy personal care. This sweat gland blocking stick is packed full of toxins. And remember, our skin is the largest organ of our body. What we put on our skin goes directly into the bloodstream. Please, give you liver and other organs a break from toxin overload. Trust me, you get enough toxins every day from the environment that we live in.

So what about natural deodorants? Well, I never really found a brand that worked well. And I also don’t feel like paying $10 for a stick of deodorant. So what’s a sweaty girl to do? Make her own. This recipe is quick and easy, making a paste that works great. I take a whiff of my armpit and it smells like lemon. And like just like other homemade personal products that I make, this deodorant lasts a long time.
So here are the super easy ingredients to make your own deodorant.
- 6 tsp coconut oil, melted – naturally antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal
- 1/4 cup baking soda – is alkaline and cleansing to the body.
- 1/4 cup arrowroot powder – is full of minerals that will boost your immunity
- 15-20 drops lemon essential oil – is detoxifying and has antiseptic properties.
- Combine baking soda and arrowroot powder in a bowl
- Mash in the coconut oil until a nice paste forms
- Add in essential oil to your scent level preference
- Scoop into jar
