Congratulations to Amy Young, our August Client of the Month! Amy is very dedicated when it comes to her workouts and she is even a regular on Saturday mornings. She brings with her a very positive attitude, which is always appreciated by everyone else in the class. She has seen her strength increase and even enjoys Turkish getups now!

Amy also recently completed the Couch to 5K program here at Wild. Even though she claims she isn’t a runner, she was able to complete the program and even enjoys running!

Did you also know Amy finished 3rd in the Summer Slimdown Challenge? Amy was a natural choice for our August Client of the Month and we are so proud of her!

Do you have a favorite exercise? What do you like about it? Least favorite? What don’t you like about it?

I like so much about boot camp that it’s hard to pick! My favorites are probably Turkish Get-Ups and anything with the ropes. Not so long ago, Turkish Get-Ups were so hard that I wasn’t even using weights – just being coordinated enough to complete them was a big challenge. It’s so rewarding to see how far I’ve come and that I actually enjoy them now (with weights!) I also enjoy rope slams because it’s not something we do very often and it’s a great way to let out some frustration.

My least favorite exercise is pull-ups; I just can’t do them! Next time you all hear from me I’ll be doing them… without band assistance.

What achievements are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the fact that I’ve stuck with it. I was so incredibly nervous going into my initial consultation, but Coach Amber, the entire WILD staff and the members made me feel so welcome and supported. The confidence gained is just about as rewarding as the physical transformation.

I am also proud of completing the Couch to 5K Program. I know a lot of people say they’re not runners, but I am REALLY not a runner! Coach Carla and the C25K ladies pushed me to go further each and every week and made running a more enjoyable experience. I am proud to say that I hate running less than I used too!

Finishing 3rd in the Summer Slimdown challenge was pretty great as well.

What do you like most about Wild Workouts and Wellness?

Again, it’s so hard to pick! I love the variety of the workouts, the supportive environment, how quickly I started seeing results and the flexibility in scheduling classes. The coaches are so knowledgeable and are always willing to give modifications.

I’ve had a variety of trainers while at WILD, but Coach Jamie has been a HUGE part in the success that I’ve had since joining and I’m so appreciative. Thanks Jamie!!

What advice would you give to other wild peeps?

Take a specialty program! I’ve tried Kettlebell Kamp with Coach Kate, Powerlifting with Coach Jamie, Couch to 5K with Coach Carla and the Summer Slimdown Challenge and have loved each one. These classes are a great way to get to know a smaller group of WILD members and narrow your focus.

Do you have a favorite song or type of music for working out?

I’m not picky, but I do enjoy 90’s radio.

What are some challenges or goals you are currently working on?

My goal continues to be working on my nutrition. Even with all the nutrition support WILD offers it’s still challenging for me. And pull-ups, those are challenging!
